Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art Welcomes New Board Members
The Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam has elected three new members to its supervisory board: Fariba Derahkshani, Timme Geerlof, and Annuska Pronkhorst. They will succeed Jeroen Princen, Nathalie De Vries, and Kees Weeda, whose terms of service have come to an end.
Derahkshani currently works as a program coordinator at the Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development in Amsterdam. Born and raised in Rotterdam, Geerlof is a partner of the law firm Windt Le Grand Leeuwenburgh, where he heads its department of intellectual property and advises on legal matters pertaining to the creative industries. Pronkhorst, an architectural historian, is a partner at Crimson Historians & Urbanists and a cofounder of the Independent School for the City, both in Rotterdam.
“We are most grateful for the dedication and supervision granted to our institution by Princen, De Vries, and Weeda,” said Witte de With director Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy. “I am especially thankful to them for their tenacious advice offered last year, the first in my tenure. The three new board members will help us in best shaping and implementing our future policy. And their professional expertise, plus the diversity of cultural backgrounds now found in our board, promises to enrich the discussions about our institutional vision.”
