THE PHOTOGRAPHS ON THE FOLLOWING PAGES are taken from Skyscraper Style: Art Deco New York by Cervin Robinson and Rosemarie Bletter, to be published by Oxford University Press in March, 1975. The book will have 256 pages (8 1/2“ x 11 ”); over 200 photographs by Cervin Robinson, including 12 in color; essays on the buildings and the architects by Cervin Robinson and on the style by Rosemarie Bletter; a list of Art Deco buildings in New York; and a map keyed to the list and to the illustrations. Cervin Robinson is an architectural historian, a well-known architectural photographer, and architectural writer. He took the photographs for this book with a grant from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Rosemarie Bletter, an architectural historian, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History and Archeology at Columbia University. The Architectural League of New York is sponsoring an exhibition of photographs from the book to be held at the end of the coming winter.
