  • Matt Mullican: More Details from an Imaginary Universe

    Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art
Rua Dom João de Castro, 210
    July 20–October 1, 2000

Most of us don't spend a lot of time thinking about information. We're just happy it's around when we need it. Matt Mullican has long taken as his subject matter the nature of this stuff—how it is categorized and represented, the ways in which its organization and manipulation structure our perception of the world. Michael Tarantino curates this multimedia retrospective of eighty works, including the recent installations and videos based on the artist being under hypnosis.
