Carl-Michael von Hausswolff is a somewhat familiar face on the international circuit, having appeared in Documenta 10 and the 2001 Venice Biennale, exhibitions that put a premium on “the real” as it is negotiated in photography, video, and installation. Now he gets to showcase his own take on reality and radicality as curator of “Against All Evens,” the second Göteborg International Art Biennial. Von Hausswolff has invited twenty-seven uncompromisingly direct artists, ranging from Kendell Geers and Carsten Höller to John Duncan, Franz Pomassl, and Stelarc. The catalogue features essays by Sven-Olov Wallenstein, Leif Elggren, Jack Stevenson, and Alexander Trocchi.
