Robin Metz Gallery
The majority of the 17 artists shown are students. Although there are flashes of creative expression, most of the work is not of exhibition calibre. Working under Shiro Ikegawa at Pasadena City College, the graphic work of Bryson Gerard shows the most consistent potential. Among the non-student exhibitors, there is technical proficiency in the serigraphs by David Weidman but little that goes beyond a superficial decorativeness. In the same medium, Robin Metz is imitative of Sister Carita, and Tom Rose, although less eclectic, is not very impressive. If the Metz Gallery is to survive, it needs far better work to exhibit.
