Juan Uslé has always been attracted to landscape. This 32-year-old Spanish artist became known for his abstract landscapes featuring a luminous primary palette and a clear ordering of space. Since 1982, when he moved from Valencia (which is on the Mediterranean in eastern Spain) to his native Cantabria in northern Spain, his work has been closely tied to the land of his birth, to its light and its terrain, so different from that of Valencia.
