    Buzz Spector’s signature gesture has been to tear pages carefully out of books into seemingly unending vertical strips, so that the texts inevitably lose much of their meaning, but achieve a touching inchoateness. Fragments of letters and words can still be discerned within this Babel, and Spector’s almost ritualistic act suggests both destruction and renewal.
