What thoughts I have of you tonight, Walt Whitman, for I walked down the sidestreets under the trees with a headache
self-conscious looking at the full moon.

In my hungry fatigue, and shopping for images, I went into the neon fruit supermarket, dreaming of your enumerations!

What peaches and what penumbras! Whole families shopping at night! Aisles full of husbands! Wives in the avocados, babies in the tomatoes!—and you, Garcia Lorca, what were you doing down by the watermelons?

I saw you, Walt Whitman, childless, lonely old grubber, poking among the mets in the refrigerator and eyeing the grocery boys.

I heard you asking questions of each: Who killed the pork chops? What price bananas? Are you my Angel?

I wandered in and out of the brilliant stacks of cans following you, and followed in my imagination by the store detective.

We strode down the open corridors together in our solitary fancy tasting artichokes, possessing every frozen delicacy, and never passing the cashier.

Where are we going, Walt Whitman? The doors close in an hour. Which way does your beard point tonight?

(I touch your book and dream of our odyssey in the supermarket and feel absurd.)

Will we walk all night through solitary streets? The trees add shade to shade, lights out in the houses, we'll both be lonely.

Will we stroll dreaming of the lost America of love
past blue automobiles in driveways, home to our silent cottage?

Ah, dear father, graybeard, lonely old courage-teacher, what America did you have when Charon quit poling his ferry and
you got out on a smoking bank and stood watching the boat disappear on the black waters of Lethe?

I think I could turn and live with animals, they are so placid and
I stand and look at them long and long.

They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied, not one is demented with the mania of
owning things,
Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived thousands of
years ago,
Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth.

Not a good car; some guy shows up at the SCCA races for the historic classes and destroys rs carreras...oh yea....wonder where your drug dollars have been going and...I'm not even a usser, just a designer and writter who's works are purloined, we had no choice but to repo em all:

By Alan Elsner

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. public support for President George W. Bush's Iraq policy has nosedived in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, but this seems unlikely to force the administration to change tack, political analysts said on Wednesday.

“Katrina has changed many things but I don't think it will change Iraq policy. There is almost no elasticity in that policy,” said Danielle Pletka of the conservative American Enterprise Institute, an acknowledged supporter both of Bush and his Iraq policy.

Political scientist Cal Jillson of Southern Methodist University agreed. “There's no way back for Bush on Iraq. He can't run away from that policy. He has to secure something he can plausibly point to as success.”

Public support for the president on Iraq had been gradually eroding in the past year as the U.S. military death toll mounted toward 2,000 and little progress was made in stopping a bloody insurgency that began soon after the 2003 invasion.

Number one....lreally...snow storm in anchorage: ditch korea policy; number 2...2000 dead...what kind of maginoit linje do you get out of that; I just assumed, ronnei sort of pumped out all those infys, all those gang twats with the attitude..really...100, 150 thousand dead by now.....

Read Tolstoi or dead - the leval chease city suburban development and...only 200 really suck. This is one of the stipidist news pieces I've seen in years... What are you people soing - you know what I think? I think your all drug addicts...

Once again: fresh pussy.

Jury asks if Lynndie England knows right from wrong

By Adam Tanner

FORT HOOD, Texas (Reuters) - Faced with photographic evidence showing U.S. soldier Lynndie England abusing Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib, her lawyers called experts on Friday who testified she suffered from learning disabilities and overreliance on a boyfriend.

In questions posed to witnesses, members of the five-man jury of officers sought to get to the heart of the matter and asked if England, pictured holding a leash to a naked Iraqi photo in infamous images, could tell right from wrong.

“It is my opinion that Lynndie England carries with her an immense amount of baggage,” said Thomas Dene, a school psychologist who knew her from when she was 4 years old. “Lynndie England has a very complex language-processing dysfunction.”

“She is overly compliant in social settings, especially in the presence of perceived authority.”

England's lawyers are arguing that because of these traits, she simply complied when abuse ringleader Charles Graner, 37, her boyfriend with whom she has a child, told her to pose with the leash and in other photos that caused worldwide outrage.

Taku: Japan special for many reasons.
Sat 01 Oct, 8:58 AM

Takuma Sato has admitted that he hopes to produce a good display at a race which is ‘special for many reasons’ when Formula One arrives at Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix next weekend.

The BAR Honda driver goes into his home race eager to score points as he looks for a drive for the 2006 season but has traditionally gone well on home soil, scoring his first F1 points in the event while driving for Jordan back in 2002 and following that up with further top eight finishes in 2003 and 2004 with his current team.
With the fanatical Suzuka crowd to cheer him on, Sato will hope to keep that scoring run going next weekend on a circuit he regards as one of his favourites.
“Obviously I am always very excited when I come back to Suzuka and am looking forward to a great race in front of my home crowd next weekend,” Sato said.
