Dara Birnbaum on her life and art

New York–based video artist Dara Birnbaum talks about her life and work—from her beginnings as an architecture student at Carnegie Mellon and her formative years in Berkeley, California, to her first encounter with video art in a storefront in Florence and her return to New York, where she fell in with a community of like-minded artists.
